8th International Meeting on Quadruplex Nucleic Acids

About the meeting
Following one year gap enforced by COVID pandemics, the G4 community is trying to restore the International Meeting on Quadruplex Nucleic Acids tradition. The meeting has been the major conference series in guanosine self-assembly, G-quadruplexes, and other unusual nucleic acid motifs since 2007.
We are happy to inform you of the "8th International Meeting on Quadruplex Nucleic Acids" in Marienbad (Czech Republic) from June 27th to July 1st, 2022. Please save the date in the calendar!!!
Our mission is to organize a fully live event. A specific focus of the 2022 meeting will be on G-quadruplex biology.

27 June 2022, Monday
We assume that all participants will arrive on Monday, 27 June 2022. There will be a bus transport provided from Prague to Marienbad.
Registration will be open from 3 PM till 8 PM. The registration desk you will find at the foyer of the cultural centre Casino, Marienbad.
At 5:30 the meeting will start by opening remarks and opening lecture.
At 6 PM the first plenary lecture will take place.
At 7 PM welcome party with refreshment will start.
28 June 2022, Tuesday
Lectures will starts at 8:30 AM, the end of the scientific program is supposed to be approx. at 5 PM.
Poster session will take place during the whole meeting. Special poster session with drinks and refreshment will be on Tuesday, 28 June 2022 on the late afternoon and Thursday, 30 June 2022 from 6:30 till 11 PM.

Registration and Paper Submission
The meeting fee will include participation at the meeting, coffee breaks, lunches, wine and cheese party at the poster session, welcome drink and small refreshment during the arrival day, proceedings and access to the scientific sessions.
Student fee can be applied only for undergraduate and graduate students (age limitation 30 years). Academic fee applies to university and public non-profit research institutions employees. All others should pick the Industry fee. The deadline for early registration is March 16, 2022 - after this date, the "late" fees are applied.
Poster presentations
Posters should be prepared in A0 portrait oriented format. Pins will be provided.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
The registration fee will be refunded (with a deduction of 10 % to cover the handling costs) if participation in the Congress is cancelled in writing before 15 May 2022. No refund will be granted after this date.

There are no restrictions. For entry to the Czech Republic, you need only valid passport (or visa, in some cases - please check the info availaible here).

Please be aware that the way from Prague to Marienbad takes approx. 2 hours.
The busses are planned to depart from Prague at 12 PM, 1 PM and 2 PM (it takes approx. 40 minutes to get to the bus departure point from the airport). The bus can be booked via your user pages - this will be working in a few days.

Transport from the airport to the IOCB
The simplest way is taking a taxi (the price should not exceed 600 CZK - approx. 25 EUR) or an Uber (cheaper).
Or you can use public transport. At Vaclav Havel Airport, exit the arrivals hall (Terminals 1 and 2) to find the bus stop. Take bus No. 119 to Nádraží Veleslavín, then change to Metro (tube, underground), line A/green, to the station Dejvická. Ticket price for this journey will be 40 CZK. Tickets are available in newspaper stand at Airport Arrival Hall, or in vending machines at bus stops, and should be available also in the bus (with additional charge). Do not forget to validate your ticket after getting on. The whole journey takes 32 minutes. Bus and Metro operate between 04 - 24 h daily, and time intervals between connections range between 10 - 20 min. After getting off at the Dejvická station please follow the map and walk to IOCB for about 5 min.
